Piaf, the name resounds with passion and a zest for life, but Edith’s voice, even her laughter, stems from roots of poverty and abandonment. Is it any wonder she reached out to the world with such gusto? From such a small frame, with pale expressive hands, her songs were an extension of her soul, large enough to reach round the globe. Living by her own terms, she embraced it all while seeking a sense of security and recognition. In my short film, “Sparrow, Littlest”, I am sharing the message that despite her sometimes desperate pain and drama, her legacy goes on touching and soothing the lives of many. (Part of the "Swan Song" series begun in 2007.)
