Brooklyn Art Project

Consider this a footnote to the why do you do what you do project

I'm interested and maybe we all are

where we live and how this informs us

this is a call for images of your digs

and the sights you see everyday (people infrastructure nature)

we have some serious talent moving through BAP

but what do we really know about each other's creative space?

what does your dream factory look like?

why does it work for you?

is your space composed or decomposed?

do you whistle while you work is there music in the background or does silence make you tick?

sitting on my front porch earlier

a gold finch perched on a telephone line running over the yard

little head darting back and forth

playing the peep and the trill

Encore!

I have to confess ...
I don't actually live in the woods.

alexandra lives in the woods

words are images

a picture is worth a thousand words

symmetrical spaces locked in song and light

I am lost in a world of blending - colour, thought, expression, ideas - the window is open and I smell humidity pushed away by a cool night breeze. Crickets. I welcome distractions from nature - noises, smells, tastes.
Wine in hand, candle by my side, I sit and rest a while. The light makes me look and feel as though I have been painted by Caravaggio - his painting come to life. Unable to see everything shadows grow on my canvas, shapes form naturally. And I paint within his painting, within my painting, in my dream factory.
