I'm a NY-based photographic artist. The focus of my work is to expand upon traditional photographic imagery; to bridge painting, printmaking and digital technology with photography. This evolving process is guided by intuition, invention and historical memory, not by eye alone. It's the exciting process of invention and discovery at work. Many digital tools and techniques are applied to each originating photograph in an ever-new series of combinations as each developing work begins to find its own direction. This is a virtually unlimited, improvisational process; a process that I refer to as "digital reconstruction." Strong color plus a seemingly tactile, digitally created sense of texture or surface/technique predominate. The resulting imagery is both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. When printed, the scale of this work must be large so that one can clearly see this cacophony of detail.
