What do you want people to know most about you?
I just graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, with my BFA - Studio Art - Painting!! It only took me 39 years!!!

I am a member of a co-op/studio/gallery in San Marcos - F8TL Studios - and we have a goal of enlivening the "art scene" in San Marcos! We have photographers, painters, illustrators and printmakers in our co-op and we have monthly art shows.

How did you hear about Brooklyn Art Project?

all about me

I am what you call an "emerging artist" - I paint abstract work in acrylic on panel in various sizes. I really like to work big, but since I need to haul my work in my car what I do is assemble a group of smaller work that relates - I really like to make squares. Anyway I paint with a big squeegee and and right now I cant seem to get away from my limited pallette of yellow and purple. Mixed together they make so many colors!!

So the spirit of my work is the relationships between chaos and order, the intentional vs. the unplanned, and the exploration into how the brain/mind/eye forms imagery from patterns.

I never "plan" my work ahead of time but instead I work in the moment and let whatever happens come out. There are always people, faces, creatures, landscapes, stories, a passage of time and lots of other things in my work that just happen - brought forth through the interaction between the artist, the work, and the viewer.

I LOVE to PAINT!!!

thanks for your comments. i agree with them totally.
yes, these thingies are charcoal and oil on paper... if you are going to do oil on paper for the first time, i would say its fun. i also tried mixing oil colour with varnish and it kinda 'reflects' depending on the paper you use. coated paper reacts differently than the uncoated ones... you will be surprised what paper can offer... just let it go...
