Wonderfully textural and rich!

A depth of truth from such simplicity of lines and purposely limited color range. Gives me inner chills.

Piaf, the name resounds with passion and a zest for life, but Edith’s voice, even her laughter, stems from roots of poverty and abandonment. Is it any wonder she reached out to the world with such gusto? From such a small frame, with pale expressive…

Painter
How often are you the first among your friends to try something new?
Very often
What do you want people to know most about you?
Though I am an artist, writer and filmmaker, I actually do not make a living from my art, but work a day job. Despite striving to have my dreams of being an independent artist realized, I believe I do my best to be a decent human being first, a spiritual being having a human experience.

First Amazon.com 4 Star Review for "Our Book of Common Faith"

4.0 out of 5 stars A unique and intriguing compilation, October 18, 2009

By Trudie Barreras

I really didn't know quite what to expect with this book, but having encountered the author on a blog (Jesus in Love) that I have found valuable and meaningful, I decided to see what the book was like. I found it to be both unique and a worthwhile addition to my library. The visual images are well reproduced, and the poetry is insightful.

Our Book of Common Faith, Poetry & Art, now on Amazon.com

Artist Statement:

“Our Book of Common Faith” is comprised of works done between 2000 & 2008. These mixed media pieces, usually start with a water-soluble oil pastel base and then branch out from there. Like many of my other works, “Our Book of Common Faith” is also a poetry/art… Continue

I remember reading the autobiography of Nina Simone and how she wrote that, after a performance, sometimes she would be awake for hours, lying in her bed, the songs still reverberating in her brain.… Continue

Hello Stephen,
I am very interested in your work for an upcoming online show called Afterlife, an exhibition of artists’ works relating to Chinese views on death and memorializing. Please take a look at: www.cccgallery.org/group/callingartistsafterlife
Hope to see you there!
