I create assemblages from discarded material and non, from wood, paper, tape, paint, wire, and much more that I find on the street. My goal in showing my work is to provoke an overwhelming sense of nostalgia, the desire to understand one's own family history and childhood, good or bad. I want my work to comfort and nurture, to give the viewer as much as the viewer is willing to give back. The colors I use are influenced by the cities and climates I've lived in: earthy tones, grey, and rusty brown from my life in the Pacific NorthWest, pops of neon pink and orange from LA where I was born and raised, and now in Brooklyn, New York where I can piece it all together.
