Oceanic Art Gallery "François de St. Jacques" is a private gallery dealing in high level authentic Oceanic Tribal art from Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Trobriand Islands and Vanuatu.
The objects for sale do perfectly fit in home and office as design furniture and exclusive wall decoration. But most of the tribal art objects are beautiful collector items too.
The oceanic tribal art species in my collection are acquired from (cultural) anthropologists, directly from their collections or acquired immediately after one of their yournies to Papua New Guinea, Trobriand Islands, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. All Items are collected in situ.
Lots of older species in my Oceanic Art collection are acquired from the (ex) Ed Boylan collection.
Others are acquired from private collections of missionaries (1920's - 1980's), soldiers in WW II, Australian patrol officers, teachers, nurses (1940's - 1970's), oil company, logging and mining employees (1950's - 1980's) and private collectors and some are "found on the attic" objects. Some species are from auctions like Christie's or directly from museums.
