What do you want people to know most about you?

I enjoy creating contemporary mixed media paintings full of mystery. I also enjoy seeing a lot of work online from international artists. Organizing group exhibitions with other artists using unconventional materials is an activity I've found to be very personally rewarding. I've helped to curate the show titled 'Natural Selection' at www.LabourLove.com gallery in Durham, NC featuring fibers, rusted metals, burlap and even a few parched bones. It'll run from November 20, 2009 to January 15, 2010..

I'll launch www.destrysparks.com during the exhibition. It seems there is never enough time to do all that can be done as an artist in this day and age! I also write about NC art for Arts Alive magazine. A good look at my work and is at www.northcarolinaartists.net & the Sandler File at www.artistsspace.org from NYC.

I also participate in shows at Touchstone Gallery in Washington, DC and in NC (at www.twogalleries.net & www.inkstonegallery.com).
