She’s a good ride, robust and wild, the crackle of mussel shells her castanets.
Pollepel peels out in
the surf in eddies and whirls. Her storm takes the breath away. Her laugh hidden behind the thunder
that punches the surrounding hills. She stomps the depths and leaves the boats that do survive
round up and wrapped in broken shrouds. The others stain the water, like so many cockroaches
caught on the dance floor.

Mixed Media: Oil paint, mica, ground glass, ink, resin.
