Ad Hoc Vox and Smack Mellon are pleased to invite you to
1984-2001, a panel discussion about science fiction

Mellon's current exhibitions. Ad Hoc Vox has gathered
together practitioners, critics, and scholars who have studied
science fiction's role in literature, film, and architecture to
discuss what possibilities science fiction offers contemporary
artists. The panel's participants are Ed Halter, Carrie
Hintz, Geoff Manaugh, Brian Francis Slattery, and Deborah
Taylor. Matt Borruso will moderate the panel, which will be
followed by a Q&A with the audience.

inaugural exhibition at Bose Pacia's new location in DUMBO.
The exhibition is comprised of mixed-media, collage and painting on

style and penchant for amorphous human figures and relationships
transforms the gallery space into a destabilized panorama of quirky
assemblages.

During the silent film, live music enhanced the moving picture and
brought communities together through a visceral, interactive
audio-visual experience. Today, the film experience has been
reduced to the tiny screens of our laptops and iPods, oftentimes
experienced alone. Cinema 16 offers a revival of community,
recreating the experience of the silent film era. Bands are
commissioned to compose a musical score in order to modernize the
1920's tradition of live music accompanying films.
