I'll chime in here about the voting process, etc in this contest and the remarks of Moinka and Jaap.. Some people happen to have lots of friends. Some people like myself don't (I am happy that way) but the thing that bugged me is that, and I guess I didn't read the instructions well, to vote for an artist, you had to sign up and become a member of BA first. Once I found that out, I lost my enthusiasm. I guess I'm not much of a salesman. Just my two cents. I think all of the artists on this site are greatly talented and I get inspiration from them all.

I think Jaap is right and I also think there should be a jury a professional people to choose the winners...because in this system, you can ask all your friends to vot. This system isn't the right one. There should always be a jury. Voting for friends is OK, but it harms the better works...

Although this election is a sympathetic idea that brings a lot of dynamic activity,
it also has a downside. In the first place it seems to me that there are lots of
non-members or so youl ike fake members.
People that just join to vote. In dutch we say 'there are a lot of flys on the shit'
I don't even see the shit anymore. I think this is a serious form of environment
pollution. -When I see that somebody becomes a featured member without
uploading any work, it must be a very interesting profile photo-
On the other hand- and that's really pity- there are new members with amazing work- like for example Simone Coulas and Frank Plant- who remains invisible
by all that election violence.
So it's good when we can leave this behind on tuesday.
The mud may sink back to the bottem and the river flows further with crytal
clear art.
Congratulations to all the winners I'm sure they deserve it.

Ian Reid asked a good question - see below. Did I blink and miss the answer or was none forthcoming? Please advise BAP!.

Dear follow artist:

Besides being part of the Brooklyn Best 2008, I am also in a competition at a different website: www.barebrush.com. It will be greatly appreciated if you could take a minute to vote for me. Please go to the above website and click on VOTE. Then scroll to the right of the screen until you will see numbers from 1 through 31. My painting is number 22. Please click on number 22 and VOTE. Thank you all, maybe one day I can return the favor.

just curious as to the way the submission process went, ive noticed some artists have more than 1 piece in that top 50 poll..

Thank you Mike. I did not realize that only members can vote. Some people that are interested in voting for me that are not artists. I think it would have be best if the general public could vote. For example, I have an image at www.barebrush.com that I am a member of, however, every one is welcome to vote.
If all of you would note for me at the above website, my painting is Number 22. I will appreciate it very much. Thank you.
