Brooklyn Art Project

Hello,

I am an independent producer with a tenacious crew of videographers with professional quality equipment and daredevil methods.

We plan to shoot upcoming art events, and are seeking Emerging Artists, who
defy and transcend traditional art forms. We would love to hear from creators and participants of art forms that include but are not limited to the following:

Alternative Venues
Animal Art
Found/Recycled Art
Nature/Anonymous Art
Activist Art/Art for a Cause
Technological/Scientific Art
Live Performance Video Art
Art in Religion
Art Across Mediums
Food as art
Audio and Art
Art Spaces/Art and Environment
Comic/Book Art
Art as Life

The shoot we are planning to do is centered on an episodic series on Emergng Art. At this time, we would like to hear from you if you are having an upcoming exhibition that we could document you preparing for.

The entire lifecycle of the art creation, from idea to conception, is an essential part of this shoot. We are going to be shooting at many upcoming art events in Seattle and Portland and scouting for artists who would like to share thier work and process, from idea to execution.

We are shooting a pilot, and are planning on additional shows with the artists
that we find represent the latest interpretation of form and medium in the art world. We are open to all submissions, especially if the mediums, methods, and techniques are outside the box of traditional galleries and art shows.

There is a strong potential for an ongoing series, and I would encourage innovative, category-defying creators to let us shed light on the creative experience.

We are shooting here in Seattle for the next two weeks and one week in Portland thereafter.

Please direct inquiries about this project to thegoldendisc@gmail.com.

There is also a possibility of more shows in the coming months, we will know by the fist week of June. So if you have shows coming up this summer, please let us know. Thank you for all the wonderful responses so far!

Hi Katherine,
I am directing a public art project, Treading. Treading explores the meaning we experience and create as our feet touch the earth. It attempts to resonate the continuum of past, present and destination, exploring space and time.
I am asking people to record a touchpoint they make with earth - it can be personal, historic, dedicated, it can be made manifest or experienced. The outputs will be collected, mapped and archived and stored electronically at treading.ning.com.
I am currently aiming to have the equinox be a day of treading dedications to causes.
Please let me know if you have any thoughts about how we may be able to work together. Sarah

i would like to be a part of this...it sounds interesting and it sounds like it would help me to be more mindful of my own path. How could I participate?

Thanks. I love your expression "to be mindful of my own path", I came to this work in part because I live on a boat and each day as I step ashore I am aware of the change in energy field from liquid to solid. Sometimes I think of the ancient journey we have all made to come from the sea to land, sometimes as I go to the tap to collect my water I think of all those the world over who are gathering water ( I am grateful mine is pure and comes from a tap), the women of the past, present and future who collect water. Sometimes I think I am able to walk so freely, and so many others can't. There is something so magical about the path we make.
If the footstep, or the path resonates for you could you record it in someway - your way, and link it to Treading at Ning. And/or could you send me any ideas you may have about furthering this work? We are thinking of using chalk to outline feet ( or foot) to help others identify with this energy.....Sarah

Although I am in the Detroit Area... I would like to be considered for upcoming events in my area.

Hello,

We are not shooting in Detroit but you can send us video and we can include it in the show. Right now it is first come first serve. If you are directly involved in creating an emerging art form or event, send us your stuff and we will include it. The cutoff time for submissions is May 9.
